Here's why I would love to be your Crete wedding photographer...

About Me

In 2014, I moved from Cardiff to the beautiful island of Crete. A romantic at heart, I have always adored weddings. Even now, you will see me tearing up at least once during your special day! It's this love for what I do that ensures I put my heart and soul into capturing your treasured memories.

During a wedding day, I capture a wide variety of images from tiny details, to romantic poses and natural moments. However, it's those stolen, candid interactions I catch that are my favorites. The moments you may not even remember but will bring back a rush of warm, fuzzy emotion when you look at a photograph you didn't realise I'd taken.

I understand that for some, the idea of posing for photographs may feel daunting or even nerve-wracking. I pride myself on a down-to-earth and supportive approach that puts my couples at ease. When you feel comfortable and relaxed, that's when your true personality shines through and the magic happens!

Capturing the images is just the beginning, what happens next is equally important; editing. Prioritising beautiful skin tones, natural colours and soft, warm lighting, I ensure my editing style is timeless. After all, you do not want a wedding album that will look dated within just a couple of years.

P.s if you love prosecco, dogs, pasta, travelling, and the colour pink; we're going to get on really well...

FAQs

How do you approach wedding photography?

A. I appreciate and respect how important your wedding day is to you and realise only the best will do. You can expect me to arrive right on time. In fact, on time for me means early, since it is vital to have adequate time to check the lighting, scout out picturesque backgrounds and set up my equipment. As soon as my camera is ready, I will immediately get to work, seeking out beautiful details and capturing set up shots that establish the wedding album.

In the lead up to the Big Day, we will be in touch and I will ask if you have specific ideas and if there are any unique must-have shots. Over the course of the day, I ensure to capture a wide variety of images from romantic poses, to candid moments, natural smiles and essential family and friends group shots. This variety makes for a well-rounded wedding album that is a true representation of your special day.

Will you direct us and tell us how to pose?

A. My first instinct during a wedding day is to stand back and capture your natural self and find candid moments as they unfold. However, to guarantee those extra special couple portraits, I will guide you into some poses. I always try to select poses that incorporate movement and allow your personality to shine through.

Essentially, how much direction I provide over the day is up to you. If you feel more comfortable having me suggest poses and position you to ensure the perfect angles, I've got you covered (I literally have 1000 ideas). Alternatively, if you want me to take a more discreet approach, I will happily hand you the creative reins when it comes to how you like to pose.

What equipment do you use?

A. My primary camera choice for wedding photography is a Sony mirrorless. I love the perfect, sharp focus and beautiful natural colours that it offers. On a wedding day, I will bring with me a photography assistant plus three camera bodies in total, multiple lenses, two flashes, LED lighting panels, and an unending supply of batteries and SD cards. You needn't worry about me being caught out by a technical issue. I carry enough equipment in my camera bag to simultaneously photograph three weddings!

As soon as I return from a wedding shoot, I immediately back up the images to not one but two state-of-the-art external SSD drives. When it comes to editing, I use professional, industry-standard programs, including Lightroom Classic and Photoshop CC.

Do you offer videography?

A. Photography and videography are very seperate disciplines requiring different equipment, skills and software. Rather than spread myself too thin and risk the quality of the service I offer, I prefer to invest all my time, focus and energy on photography. However, I do have collaborations and relationships with talented local videographers, so am more than happy to offer you some great videography recommendations.
